2014 E-350 sedan / designo

In most of my previous posts, I would pic the car that has something special. Majority of the cases it would be new model of the vehicle or high performance car. This E-350 doesn't have high performance, in fact, it is one of the best-selling models MB offers. This means that once you step in to Mercedes-Benz dealership you are very likely to find several to choose from. So, why am I posting something that is common as a tree in a forest?
Well, it does have something special about it......colors!
This particular E-350 has Cardinal Red exterior paint. It is metallic red that is unlike anything that you have ever seen on E-class sedan. MB offered red exterior paint on E-class before, but is limited to the coupes. I tried to do research and find out did MB ever offer red color on E-class sedan, and I haven't found any results (for US market). So, this fact alone makes this car special, besides the fact that paint was delayed for more than six months. Also, you must account for $1,080 premium for cardinal red.

Interior of this beauty is matched with designo Natural Curly Maple wood accents together with designo Saffron Beige Leather package that comes with black DINAMICA headliner. Now is the time to tell you more about designo interior of this vehicle.
I assume that what you see on the pictures is pleasing to the eyes, but seeing it "live", up-close, and touching it, lifts up the spirit even higher.
Handpicked & hand polished designo wood gives this vehicle uniqueness and accents the car in a way that would make it very special. Since all designo interiors/exteriors must be specially ordered, what delays building process 6-8 weeks, rarity of the vehicle is almost guaranteed. I know that many have suspicious about the "wood" and I have to repeat that wood accents in the vehicle are real wood, coated with multiple layers of clear coat to achieve glossy finish and durability. Wood pieces are acquired by MB in accordance with responsible forestry regulations. Again, I would like to emphasize that each wood piece was hand-picked and polished for the maximum effect in appearance.
Each "designo" leather is nappa leather. So, what does "nappa leather" means? It is the term that indicates "soft to the touch" leather. What makes it special is that any part of this leather can't have any imperfections (discoloration, scratches, scuffs, wrinkles...etc) that are fairly common on big leather pieces. Clean, soft leather is treated with binding agents for color and durability where MB experience delivers on the promise of the quality. MB nappa leather is sourced from southern Germany.
E-class is one of the signatures of Mercedes-Benz and it is/was enjoyed since circa 1947. You will not have much trouble of spotting Mercedes-Benz on the road, but you will have trouble if you looking for uniqueness and rarity as well as in quality of materials used for this particular E-350.
